Emilio Pucci began his career in fashion from a photo of a ski suit design that found its way to Harper's Bazaar. In 1950, Pucci opened a boutique in Capri and began to develop the Mediterranean-inspired patterns that grew his world-wide stature. Pucci was one of the first designers to move his work into other fields such as uniform design, interiors and carpets and even sails. In the 1990's, Emilio's daughter Laudomia Pucci, took over the company and formed an alliance with LVMH. She continues to uphold her father's vision and traditions in her role as Image Director and Deputy Chairman of the brand.
